Semtech supplies a wide range of power management ICs used in telecommunications and industrial equipment, portable devices, computers, and networks. Semtech`s products include feature rich, highly integrated products for the telecom industry, and low power, small-package, high- efficiency products for cell phones, handsets, notebook PCs and other portable devices. In addition, Semtech continue to supply power products that enable the latest architectures from industry leaders such as Intel and AMD.

Switching Regulators

Semtech offers a family of high performance DC-DC switching regulator ICs with both integrated and non-integrated switches and synchronous and non-synchronous voltage regulators. These buck and boost voltage regulators and converters operate from input voltages of 2.7V to 40V, frequencies up to 4MHz, and high efficiencies up to 96%.

For portable and green applications, PSAVE mode enables low quiescent currents as low as 17uA. Very small, low profile circuit implementations with minimal external components are made possible through Semtech`s advanced process technology and smart design.

PWM Controllers

Semtech offers a wide range of efficient Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) controller ICs. Semtech`s family of isolated and non-isolated PWM controllers consists of feature-rich, highly integrated solutions which offer design flexibility, lower overall system cost, reduced external BOM and improved reliability.

Semtech`s devices support low, medium, and high power non-isolated and isolated DC/DC converters (forward, flyback, push-pull, half-and full-bridge). They enable optimum solutions for systems utilizing distributed power architectures and point-of-load regulation in networking and industrial power supplies, servers, workstations, telecom/datacom, microprocessor-based equipment, portable battery-powered devices and wireless infrastructure products.

Charge Pumps

Semtech charge pump ICs feature optimal high efficiency in the smallest footprint with accurate current regulation, low noise, and a wide dimming range. Semtech`s high-current charge pump ICs are designed specifically for use with white LEDs used in camera flash applications. In addition, Semtech offer versatile charge pump ICs with wide input ranges designed for Li-Ion battery operated power supply applications.

LED Drivers

Semtech manufactures an extensive line of LED driver ICs for LCD display backlight and LED camera flash applications. They include inductor-based boost LED drivers for series-connected LEDs and charge pump LED drivers and low-dropout current sinks for parallel-connected LEDs. Each LED Driver topology is designed for optimal high efficiency in the smallest footprint with accurate current regulation, low noise, and a wide dimming range.

Linear Regulators and Controllers

Semtech’s low dropout (LDO) product portfolio offers a broad range of high performing and feature-rich solutions. Semtech`s dropout linear regulator families include Single, Dual and Multiple LDO linear regulators, as well as General Purpose, Ultra-low Dropout, and Low-Noise. Semtech`s LDO voltage controller products consist of both single and multiple linear controllers.

Semtech`s low dropout regulator and low dropout controller ICs can operate with input voltages ranging from a very low 1.4V to up to 16V. These devices are complemented by a very low dropout voltage and offer output currents from 100mA to 3A with fast transient response and excellent line and load regulation. Semtech`s low dropout LDO products are used in a variety of applications, from desktop motherboards and graphics cards to almost any battery powered system such as notebook PCs, cell phones, PDAs, handsets and more.

MOFset Drivers

Semtech offers a family of Mosfet Drivers with wide input range of 4.5V to 25V with peak drive currents of up to 7.5A.

Battery Chargers

Semtech specializes in single-cell, linear battery charger ICs designed for Lithium Ion and Lithium Polymer battery technologies. These charger ICs all feature high integration which simplify design, add safety and reduce component counts. Standard safety and notification features include battery-in-place, charger present, end-of-charge, over voltage, charge time-out and NTC interface capability needed to monitor battery temperature. In addition, Independent programmability for pre-charge, fast-charge and termination charging allows accurate control while maintaining maximum cell capacity and safety.

Hot-Swap Controllers

Semtech offers a family of Hotswap controllers with Vin range of -10V to -80V to limit inrush current and provide current limiting during normal operation. Typically all telecom and networking applications require -48V to +48V.
